I don't have that mod; but the general improvement you can make is to run a fan blowing on the heat sink of the Scout. You can do some mod of the temperature compensation of the oscillator. The fan is the easiest thing to try. Even Walgreens has small AC operated fans, and computer stores have small 12 volt fans that can be fitted to the heat sink, if you find a table fan helps. Not running too much power is a big help. Try turning down the power with the control on bottom of the rig.
