No, no, no.
It's simpler. It's like this:
We think we know what we know.
We know we know what we know we don't know.
But we don't know what else we don't know.
No?

"The message is that there are known knowns - there are things that we know
that we know. There are known unknowns - that is to say, there are things
that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns - there
are things we do not know we don't know. And each year we discover a few
more of those unknown unknowns."
Similar to something I saw many years ago
but with a different context. One of these
categories must apply to every posters on this
reflector. I've formed my own opinions but it's
up to each of us decide who is which:
Competent Competent - Someone who is competent and knows it.
Incompetent Competent - Someone who is competent but doesn't know it.
Competent Incompetent - Someone who is incompetent and knows it.
Incompetent Incompetent - Someone who is incompetent but doesn't know it.
...the latter being the most dangerous category! ;-)
