 I occasionally use a little DeoxIT on the contacts of my '56 Blue Racer. 
However, I don't use any lubricants. A homebrew contact cleaner that a (now 
SK) professional operator recommended was an old hacksaw blade that has been 
smoothed. Works well. Also, newspaper strips work.
