Yes it would take a minor almost trivial re-write of
the firmware.  

The ideal would be a menu choice to turn on the
daughter card if you are using it.  This would also
allow a change in the menu choices so you could center
the new filters.  No big deal, but it would go a long
way to maintaining parity between O and O2
