Reality Check: Version 2.0 is the same for the Orion and Orion II. Now if
Ten-Tec did not fix the problem with out doing the hardware redsign then the
Orion II is going to have the same problems. Fact is they have fixed the
problem and I am willing to wait for Version 2.0.
Now my Orion is in the hospital after almost two years of "No Problem"
operation. The CPU/DSP Board went out. I just talked with Paul Clinton
this morning about this board as it has the DragonBall on it. After talking
with Paul I do not feel anyone has to worry about having your Orion fixed
for years to come.

two and one half years now and there are still problems with the firmware.
This is probably the over-riding fact in the decision to replace the
original Orion with a newer and faster one. After all, making a recall of
all Orions to upgrade the processor, etc would have been very expensive.
