The preferred way of doing things is disconnect the radios from AC mains and computer and telephone, during storm. Disconnect antenna leads and ground them at entry to building if possible. Don' t let them float open circuit. By doing that you want to also bleed off wind and storm static build up as well as any induction from a strike nearby like within a mile. Open circuit feed ins could arc to other conductors and do as much damage to shack as leaving them on rigs.
