Just to set the record clear, the rest of us beta firmware testers do not
publish information on beta firmware releases simply because Ten Tec
specifically ask that we NOT share the information. Most likely to keep
incorrect rumors from getting started. That request/requirement is being
violated by some beta testers.
As for as someone's good intentions, their attempt to 'organize' the beta
test group was done on their first post to the group, and it was basically
totally ignored. It most likely would have been more effective if that
person spend some time to see how the group was 'organized' before they
tried to 'reorganize' it.
I'm sure the intentions were good however?
As for someone being concerned about Ten Tec thinks about what is posted on
these reflectors, there is, to my knowledge, only one person at Ten Tec who
actually reads these reflectors....most of the technical staff get too sick
on their stomach to read most of what is posted. Paul Clinton's answer to my
question was 'we don't even look at that garbage'!

Billy, John takes his responsibilties and obligations very seriously and
since he agreed to do BETA testing I can assure you he will do a great job.
He also is attempting to keep the rest of us informed as to the status of
the BETAS, which to my knowledge noone else has attempted to do this
before. He has also tried to organize the BETA testers so that they can
comunicate more efectively with each other about issues etc. John has a lot
of enthusiasm for the job at hand and is very much ready to get going with
the testing as soon as the next BETA is released.
There is also nothing wrong with owning a different brand of radio if he so
desires. Having a backup rig is a good idea.
