boys and girls..
i have received a omni D that was overvoltaged.(sp)
I have the receiver working, the transmitter working and have made on
the air contacts..
only problem is I have no idea where I am at.
the display was blank.
Several of the segment drivers were toast. the time base oscillator IC
was toast.
Now I have display, but it won't count correctly.
here's what I have
the preset is there, 1.000 for 160-40 meter
91.000 for 10 mhz
09.000 for 14 mhz and up
the correct timing pulse are there
I have the correct input frequency from the vfo amplifier, there's
plenty of RF from the vfo amp, about.5 v
now, the trouble is the display won't count correctly!
on 40 meters, I see 1.234 mhz, when in fact the vfo is running at 7.102
yes, the segments are working, they're not being turned on.
and now the strange part.
if I turn the vfo down to 7.000, the display will show 1.000. as I go
up in frequency, the display becomes off, say at 7.100 on the vfo, the
display will show 1.212. Higher up, the more error ( besides the
problem with the leading (missing ) "7"
I've talked with ten tec, they've been really helpful with ideas, but
nothing has worked so far.
ah... the main counter IC? Swapped out one from a century 21 and still
have the same problem. the one out of the omni works in the C21, too.
Help!!!
