Certainly agree with you! That is the worst sounding sidetone I've ever
heard on any radio! Modifying it is almost essential, to me as I can't
hardly send CW without hearing a 'good' sidetone.

Unlike many US owners have never put a HF
rig in a car or had QTH QRM that required blanking.
Like a lot of bells and whistles I think NB's should have
been optional extras and TT's customer's money better spent
on a decent sine wave sidetone similarly provided by rice-cooker
competition.
Every cw contests, including Russian cw contest this
week end, made harder going with Corsair's excuse for a sidetone.
If I get round to modifying, will reflect.
