I'll second that. Take a look at the sweep functions on Icom's 756 series.
I found it helpful not only in finding signals, but after a while I could
even identify what type of signal it was.
One thing that has to be done with the Orion sweep is to give it more
resolution when a narrower range is selected. The fat bars are totally
unacceptable!
It would be nice if the sweep axis would be labelled with frequency and if
there were indicators of the operating frequencies of the Orion.
