Chas: Your plans look good. The wider filters have nothing to do with the carrier null however should you desire to check it, hook a dummy load to the Omni VI, go to one of the ssb modes, key the microphone and listen for carrier in another receiver. You will no doubt hear some. The null adjustments are on the TX audio board. R3 and R4. This board is on the top, rear, left hand side, back under the speaker bracket. You can easily reach the pots but you need a tiny screwdriver. Adjust both for minimum carrier. They over react to the slightest twitch so just do the best you can. The PBT control is easy to adjust as you discovered.
