If I recall, TT on occasion will ship a demo rig or two out to a trusted
source to put on display for them at select hamfests. The person is not a
dealer and does not take orders.
Though I'd be willing to! :-)

Subject: [TenTec] is tentec going back to dealers?
i was at a recent hamfest, and i came to a booth by a company from MI (i
think). he was selling TT equipment. he had the jupiter and the omni on
display (BTW, both look MUCH nicer in real life than any picts i've ever
seen).
i didn't have time to chat w/the person since i didn't get to the booth 'til
near the end of the show and he was swamped w/others a head of me. plus, i
really had to leave. so, is TT considering going back to the dealer route
again? or are there just a few small-time "dealers" out there that TT is
willing to work with, but their focus is still direct sales?
BTW, the equipment he was selling did look new, not used.

j
