Hi All,
I omitted setting GAIN = 100 for both Main and
Sub in my checklist below. Corrected checklist follows:
Ciao Adriano,
Just to make sure you don't have a setup
problem, please try the following checklist:
ANT/VFO configuration (under S-Meter):
Main TX/RX ANT 1 ON, Sub RX ANT 1 ON
VFO A: TX ON, RX ON
VFO B: Sub RX ON
GAIN = 100 in both Main and Sub RX
Preamp ON in Main RX (Preamp is always ON for Sub RX and cannot be turned off).
AUDIO > Left Both, Right Both
AGC Decay & Threshold: same for both Main and Sub.
Main AF level: mid-range
Sub AF level: mid-range
A>B to enter same freq to both RX's
Main and Sub both in LCW mode with same BW/PBT/RIT settings
Filter Menu = 20k (same as Sub's fixed roofing filter)
Depress both Main AF and Sub AF encoders to Off.
Now depress Main AF On and carefully listen.
Now depress Main AF Off and Sub AF On and listen.
The audio should now sound very similar for both receivers.
If listening on Main only while turning Sub RX ANT 1 Off,
the audio will increase slightly (3 dB) since ANT 1 signal
is no longer being split to Sub causing a 3 dB loss.
Hopefully this checklist may help you find a setting
which might be causing the difference you are hearing!
73, Bill W4ZV
