How do you tell what firmware version you have? Sounds like to have to remove the cover and look at a chip somewhere. Is there a way to get it to display or something? I never thought I'd be glad I'm a slow cw op (around 25 wpm) but I guess I am now, hi. Never noticed the qsk problem on mine. I don't think I'm picky but I do expect my stuff to work. Gear hanging up or hardware going out on me get's me torqued off pretty quickly if it's a new item.
I run power -- WATTS. Nothing I've ever said was worth beating your brains out to copy. I don't try to pull out the weak ones. Nothing they have to say is worth beating my brains out to copy.>>> AMEN. Preach it brother! If anything, my receivers are TOO sensitive. If you have a crappy signal I DON'T want to be able to hear you! When I operate, off goes the preamp and in goes the 18 db attenuation! Someday I will write a screed on the myths of QRP.
