What you are describing here does not reflect my experience, having
conducted my own tests on Orion at 60 wpm. Both of my Orions perform in the
same way. Both are at 1.371, the current firmware.
Firmware at rev1.369 and earlier displayed a systematic (not random) ~8mS
truncation of character elements. If that's what you are using then I am
completely unsurprised by your experiences. If on the other hand you are
using 1.371, then I am curious to understand why your two Orions behave so
differently to the two I have here.
