The only disadvantage I can think of is in long wave reception where a resistive PAD decreases the sensitivity of the receiver. You would probably need a LW antenna matcher for really good reception. I know I really like my pre-production version (it has a Paragon front panel but Paragon II back panel and guts). And it works fine on 60 Meters.
