It is true that flat lines make a good sail in wind.
In Marine deep water work even with round cables, we put a material on the
cable to twist around it, to reduce the ability of the cable to "strum", ie
make like a guitar string in strong water currents underwater. The same
holds in wind, if you twist the flat sail of the 450 line, it does not
"sail" as well, and it will resist bouncing around in wind, ie as large an
excursion at least.
The main reason for twisting line is the electrical cancellation of field
influences.
