Another trick for tuning Johnson MB (unmodified) requires a 50 Ohm pad that can be switched between the MB, rig, and dummy load. 1)Tune into 50 Ohm dummy load. This step not required with broadband rig, but I still use a lot of tube gear. 2)Insert pad and tune Matchbox for best received signal strength 3)switch pad out and you're ready to go.
