Well said Billy, well said.

Yes, the siting of antennas and what your goals and aims (sorry for pun) are
is key. It is one or the most fun thing in radio when you build your own
and see what works and go find out why it did or not!

We have used dipoles, various verticals, double zepps, inverted vees,
horizontal low and high vee beams,
variety of horizontal loops, and probably will try some Bi Square
experiments next. Of course for reference had dipoles for bands, and 3
element typical trap beam.

We are very partial to 20m and 40m for loop experiments, and find on 20m our
big multi wave loop beats the Field Day typical 3 element beam installation,
(30 foot tower).

What is better than antennas, Field Day and an empty football field?

Stuart
