Don,
I've noticed the lighting behind the S meter to change in intensity slightly from time to time. I just assumed it to be poor connections. If you get a real answer, please let me know. I've not noticed the display changing brightness.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone has their S meter and LED display lighting
dim randomly upon occasion? The S meter lamps and LED
digits both are tied to the display driver board which
accepts serial commands from the logic board. If I
hold the LOCK key until CHOOSE displays then tap it to
clear the display returns to normal intensity. Has
anyone seen this or found a cure outside of cleaning
the driver board connectors?

Thanks,
