Soooo?
Does it mean that you can only win with Orion?
How about congratulations to me, check
http://lists.contesting.com/archives/html/CQ-Contest/2004-02/msg00421.html
for C6AYB, op. K3BU placing on the top of NA Low Power category, using, get
this:
IC706MKIIg running only 100W in 150 W category, antenna was 130' quarter wave
piece of wire running from the hotel balcony down to a palm tree. No
receiving antennas. No stinkin' packet. Line noise from busted air-conditioning
fan on
the next building. Bottle of 151 proof Bacardi Gold making BahamaMammas.
Sleeping it off on the beach during the day. Ending up beating World LP record.
Station fits in an attache case. Couldn't do that with Orion. Rig cost me $700.
Spool of wire and fishing line I found in my junk box from the days of trying
to fly balloon vertical. Oh, used airline headphones and TRlog with notebook
for logging.
No hallelujah for me? :-( :-( :-(
OK, next time I will take Orion, promise :-) Just leery to stick it in the
check-in baggage, it will not fit (with all that empty space inside :-) in
carry-on.
