Yes, I've had past problems with the verify operation and reported it to
Ten-Tec. Apparently, hasn't been fixed.

Yes I did Toby! When the error message mentioned it "lost communication" I
unloaded everything from the computer I could think of. I'm running Win98
also.
Well, the good news! Late last night, while I was playing around
programming the VFO's. RIT/XIT came back! I started with 10 meters and set
a VFO for 29.6 MHz. and set the mode to FM. For some unknown reason I tried
the RIT again, and it was working! Checked all the bands, and all seems
okay! I think I tried every other button on the radio except the mode
button. Go figure!
