Todays HF RX technology does bandwidth limited IF DSP at only 36 kHz or baseband processing at 0-3 kHz. There are more cycles available at IF carrier and better detection results can be achieved. TS-570 and many other DSP RX problems come from fast AGC preventing A/D converter overflow. It is so audible on TS-970 as CW keying by nearby strong signals within roofing filter. 73 de Mario, S56A, N1YU |
