While it's a very minor item - and there's only one thing within reach that
will fit the MIC jack - brightening the PH/CW letters is pretty easy.
Since my hands are still steady, I stopped by the toy department at Wal Mart
and picked up a Testors paint pen in white. After shaking the pen for a while I
flowed the white on the TOPS of the letters - and after the paint has had a few
days to dry I intend to put a clear coat over the white.
If your hands are shakey - cover the area with easy to remove masking tape
rubbed down well so the tops of the letters break through the tape. Use a heavy
duty typing eraser and a small magnifying glass to make sure the entire top of
the letters is clear. Paint, let dry, clear coat, remove tape.
You can also use dry transfer letters - pick one of the bold face types that
will completely cover the letters and use something like the side of a ball
point pen to transfer the color to the tops of the letters. My crafty wife uses
clear nail polish to cover transfer letters but they won't take as much wear as
enamel.
