Mario, I spent over that amount on a JA radio in 1997, including 6 extra IF filters, etc. That radio had terrible IF hiss and clicks which many, many people complained about to the manufacturer. But as far as the manufacturer is concerned, it STILL has those same "teething" problems today, nearly 8 years after it was introduced. That manufacturer has done absolutely NOTHING about any of these serious problems. Furthermore, in two subsequent generations of that radio, important performance parameters like IMD and BDR have actually degraded rather than improved. Is this your model of success? In the 4 months I've owned an Orion, Ten-Tec has already been infinitely more responsive than that manufacturer, and I have NO DOUBT that they will continue to improve Orion based on my inputs. As far as "nuking" JA manufacturers, I don't believe that is necessary since they are already doing a fine job of doing it to themselves by being totally non-responsive to customers. 73, Bill W4ZV _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/tentec |
