I have had my ORION for about 6 weeks now, 2 weeks away back to TT to
replace a defective encoder, which they did very nicely at no cost at all!
It is easy to see that there are still many issues / improvements still
needed. THATS OK, as long as they get fixed. It takes time, Thats ok too!
BUT... and I hope you all agree.. THEY BETTER GET FIXED. We ORION owners are
not novice hams, most of us have owned lots of equipment through lots of
years. We know how something should work.
SO, my sugestion is: EVERYBODY SEND TO TT ALL OF THERE ISSUES ? SUGGESTIONS,
SW and HW.
DO NOT DEPEND ON YOU FELLOW HAM TO DO IT FOR YOU. It's easy to do.
Also, IF THERE ARE ISSUES REQUIRING HARDWARE CHANGES (Like the key click
thread) the at some time (after all the dust settles and all issues are
reported)
Ten-Tec NEEDS TO GET THESE RADIOS BACK AND FIX THEM.
Quite honestly some of these should not have got past QC / System testing.
We all need to be patient, OK, but firm on getting these things fixed.
Ten-Tec is an excellant company with a great reputation for customer service
(The main reason I got ORION NOW,knowing it had some work to still be done) so
I am confident most issues will eventually be resolved.
Meanwhile, I am really enjoying my ORION. Its great to operate, and even
though I have a choice of several rigs to turn on each day... I seem to always
pick the ORION!
Thanks TT for a great radio, now lets just keep going to get it where we all
want it to be.
Lee, KC9CDT
