If you don't have money but time, you make decent contest radio from old
radios with some modifications (been there done), you can get Elecraft K2,
build
it, cheap, best value for the money. Or spend some time building business,
making money and buy the biggest baddest expensivest radio money can buy. It is
not the transceiver that wins the contests, it is operator, his skills that do
it.
