Just the opposite, I don't want to key with PTT (it does on CW). I want PTT
in CW mode through PTT line on mike connector (and SSB which is OK) and key CW
through whatever separate KEY line.
The reason is my SO2R setup, where I need sometime to PTT the chain of
TX-gizmos-AMP-ANT switches in CW mode without sending CW (just switch it to
transmit
mode).
The other reason is that TRlog can operate PTT and set the delays in
software, so you can fine tune your system for minimum advance ptt and without
introducing too much delay into CW timing, which sometimes at higher speeds
starts
interfering with ear - hand connection.
Many contesters prefer to use PTT on CW and SSB for complete control. BK in
the contest situation is not that important. I do not need to listen for bk in
short bursts of TEST K3BU, or when sending exchange, what's to BK there? WAE
QTC or ragchewing or net operation is another story.
Yuri, K3BU
