Hello Ken,
Yes, I understand how to do it manually. I was wondering if anyone knows
how to do it via RS-232, hence the 'CAT' in the subject.
Filter selection is possible, including switching in the narrow filter(s).
I have an Omni VI/Opt1 without the 2nd narrow filter spot... others have
recently posted how to toggle between the two narrow filters (N-1, N-2) on
the VI+.
Here's how to set the different filters... the appropriate hex sequences are
between the ':' and the '>':
6 Mhz IF filters:
2.4 khz - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 06 03 02 FD>
1.8 khz - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 06 03 03 FD>
0.5 khz - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 06 03 04 FD>
0.25 khz - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 06 03 05 FD>
Omnni VI 9 Mhz narrow filter toggle - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 06 03 06 FD>
VFO A - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 07 00 FD>
VFO B - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 07 01 FD>
A = B - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 07 A0 FD>
SPLIT - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 0F 01 FD>
NORML - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 0F 00 FD> turns SPLIT mode off
RVRSE - <CATCMDHEX:FE FE 04 EO 07 B0 FD> swaps freq settings between VFO A
and VFO B
If I can figure out how to set/reset DSP then that's all I really need from
a computer program... (already have mode settings). I don't think switching
RIT in and out would be useful, because you can't control RIT from a
computer... why not do the same thing with Split instead?
If you don't have one of the various CAT experimental programs that are
lying around on the net, you can always use MixW and build CATCMDHEX macros,
assign 'em to buttons, and try them out to see what you get.
