My N4PY Orion Control Program is now fully functional
and available to operate the TenTec Orion completely
from computer control.
Highlites of using the N4PY Orion Control Program are:
1) You can use any logging program that works with the TenTec Pegasus.
All you have to do is configure the logging program for a TenTec Pegasus
and run my software along with the logging program.
2) Full Orion memory save to file and restore from file operation.
3) You can do instant one click band hopping to any CW or SSB or SWL band.
4) All mode, filter, antenna, and frequency settings are remembered as
you leave a band so they can be fully restored when you return to that band.
5) Special Hi Cut and Lo Cut filter settings.
6) Full ability to adjust the AGC values of threshold, decay, and hang
for all 5 AGC settings which are FAST, MEDIUM, SLOW, PGM1, and PGM2.
7) Over 20 different functions can be programmed for each key on the
remote tuning pod.
8) Simple "split" and "dual" receive functions allow you to easily
work split frequency pileups.
9) Frequency calibrate functions to allow the Orion to be dead on
frequency on all bands.
10) Control things in one click that require several operations on the
Orion like turning on and off the hardware noise blanker and binaural
receive.
11) Fully automatic receiver selection as you tune. For example, if
you are tuning the main receiver and reach the limit of the main receiver,
the program will automatically switch to the sub receiver and keep the
frequency tuning continuous. Thus if you are tuned to 20 meters on the
main receiver and click the 31 meter SWL band button, VFO A will switch
to the sub receiver and you will be at the last frequency, mode, filter,
and antenna setting you were using on that band.
