Update with Argonaut-V and MixW2 software:
Well I did as Duffy suggested and guess what! The MixW2 software is alive
and well with the Argonaut-V! The program is a dream as it flawlessly
received solid RTTY on a signal that I could barely hear. I am sure the
DSP of the Argonaut-V went a long ways to allow this to happen. I next
tried CW -- super and solid on S2 signals! Next was SSTV - on 14.230
there were European stations on Martin-1 sending weak signals that I
never have been able to receive with any other combination of software
and hardware. Yep, a little snow but a good picture on a S2 signal from
Spain! It has always taken at least a S6-S7 signal to get the same
results before with analog gear (FT-767) and other software (WinSSTV).
--- I actually dropped my jaw when I saw the perfect RTTY print coming
from a signal that I had to strain to detect by ear - and there seemed to
be another station near by! --- The DSP is awesome on the lil Argonaut-V
and the MixW2 software looks like it may be a keeper. Now, I have the
logging portion of the program working, the rig control portion working,
and the all-mode receive portion working. --- Tomorrow, I will try the
last phase and try to get the transmitting section to work. --- I will
keep all of you posted.
I'm having fun with this Argonaut-V! ----- Thanks TenTec!
