After reading a couple hundred emails that just won't stop about A/B
tests, that seem to have more to do with personal preference's and
marketing techniques, I can only conclude a lot of us are not making
QSOs and having fun with our new ORIONs.
I know I was fascinated with the receiver at first, but now it is down
to enjoying using the ORION and making QSOs. I like AM and CW.
I would still like to know those personal settings that I read about
about 150 emails back.
I am not finding this users group very interesting or healthy, when it
is not dealing with things that can be learned to improve our
operational skills using the Ten Tec Equipment.
I really do not care who likes the ORION or not. I don't care who likes
other radios or not. I am interested in better ways to operate and who
is working who!
As far as A/B testing, Statistics, and preference - for 35 years I
worked in the UNIQUE WORLD of QUALITY. You can repair, modify, and/ or
manufacture a product using 1000s of processes (the work I was
associated with there were over 10,000 individual processes to turn out
a final product) and if one faulty process got by the quality guy, the
customer was sure to complain. So quality is driven by the customer and
every customer wants a perfect product weather it is a Rolls, a Ten
Tec, or a HEATHKIT Tenor.
How about getting the discussions back on track.
Happy Field Day to Ten Tec Users Group.
I will be operating FD at the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service (CARS),
W4CAR, FD site on the Inter Coastal Waterway at the Deep Creek Locks -
Chesapeake, VA. No, I am not carrying my new toy out there this year,
but I will come home and use it for many FD QSOs. You can visit CARS at
www.qsl.net/cars and see my ORION picture under ELMER.
God Bless
