I don't understand the excitement Earl has caused regarding
his "personal" ratings of the various radios. So what if they are
not technical in the true sense. He doesn't have to answer to
anyone here regarding his decision to buy or sell or return a
radio. His decision is based on what he feels the radio should be
doing and that is all that truely matters here.
Yes, I have an Orion and yes there are things I do not like about it
and if I decide to return it, it will be my decision to make based
on what I think is wrong or doesn't work correctly so forget all
this hoopla about scientific testing. Likewise I also have an
Argonaut V as well as an Icom 756Pro2 and I enjoy what each brings
to the table especially the Argo V with it's simplicity and ease of
use even though every now and then it seems to think the PBT is
turned on.
Bottom line is I am surprised Earl has gone to great lengths to
justify to others why he rated the radio the way he did. IMHO it is
no one else's business but his own.
Let me see if I can find the flamesuit now.
