For days now I've been sitting and reading these comparisons and I'm
beginning to think that I have no idea what makes a good receiver and
what makes a bad receiver. Over the past twenty or so years I've owned
Drake ("full Sherwood") C-Lines, TR-7's, the Ten-Tec Paragon and the
Omni VI (option 3). I've used TS-930's, TS-940's, TS-950's, TS-830's,
TS-850's, TS-870's, FT-1000D's, FT-1000MP's, FT-1000MP Mk V's, FT-1000MP
Fields and, oh yes, FT-757's (various incarnations). I've had the Orion
for about a month-and-a-half. It has been my opinion that it has the
finest receiver I've ever used. Now I'm filled with self-doubt. I'm
beginning to think I should sell the piece of crap and buy a second-hand
FT-757 ;-)
