I have plugged a set of mono phones into that jack on a couple of
occasions accidentally. The world did not come to an end. The
radio did not blow up or smoke. In response to a previous post on
this question, someone checked and verified that there are 100 ohm
resistors in series with each lead
On the other hand, I'm not going to be the one to put a set of mono
phones in that jack and let it cook over night, either.
Whatever, It's no big thing ....
