I rarely use the DSP on my Omni6+, but I often switch it in to see if it
helps! On SSB, it occasionally
helps but always with a bit of distortion. Most often the distortion is
bad enough that I don't leave it
switched in.
On CW, it often helps make the cw stand out by reducing the background
noise. I rarely leave it
switched in preferring to use the filters instead. I have the 1.8, 500,
250 plus the optional
500, 250 hz filters installed. I don't often use the narrowest filters
because it is too easy to tune
past signals and the ear is pretty discriminating!
Actually I probably prefer using my DSP9+ filter with its variable
setting capability. I say probably
because I haven't had it connected for a couple of years.
