The secret is to join the list, set ur option to no mail and simply read the 
posts on the web by going to:
http://lists.contesting.com/_tentec/2003-February/date.html

Great way to handle the volume.  There's a small delay but so what.  You can 
pick and choose by subject and your mailbox stays relatively empty.
