Rick
I checked the web site and it is true that the Inrad internal mod is for
the Omni VI only.
Perhaps I've been assuming that the V has more in common with the VI than
it actually does. The reputation of the VI is that it is a great cw rig
with potential for nice transmit audio, but doesn't sound so good on
receive. Different people like different audio of course, but I would
expect that if I owned a VI that I would want the mod.
So - how about the V? Has anyone on this list ever listened to an Omni V
and VI side by side? Does the audio on a V sound better than the audio on
a VI? Does the ssb audio on a Paragon sound better than an Omni VI ? I
might as well ask about the Corsair too. How does the receive audio of the
Corsair compare to the Omni audio ? Finally - for those who currently own a
Jupiter or Pegasus who have previously owned an older TT: How much better
is the audio in a Jupiter compared to the earlier TT models? Can the
earlier models be made to sound as nice on receive(with mods, new
speakers, external audio amps) as the Jupiter?
This all boils down to one simple question:
Is there one TT model that receives DX/contests as well as an Omni V while
sounding as nice for ragchewing as the Jupiter is supposed to sound?
tnx
