I also was not familiar with any Astron model having an external sense line. Sense circuitry in lab power supplies have two extra terminals. You run small gauge wire out to the load from them, and it senses the voltage AT THE LOAD. When it drops, it signals the control circuit to boost the voltage at the Supply output, on the high current terminals which also connect to the load. Such supplies will ALWAYS have four output connections on back, two clearly high current + and -, and two marked V sense + &- or similar. 73, Stuart K5KVH Kepco and HP power supplies have this set up, in some models. |
