Thanks everyone who sent information and advice.  I 
decided to purchase two RS-70M Astron supplies after 
finally getting the straight dope on them and how to 
utilize the sensing system (yes... they are set up to do 
this, apparently Astron needs to educate their tech 
support staff a little better).  Looks like a very safe... 
and RF quiet system.
BTW I found the RS-70M's for $249 at Adventrade so the 
cost isn't too far off what a used 9420 would end up 
costing.
