My standard is running 24 hours on battery at Field Day. Unless we are running digital mode like PSK 31 or packet, ONE deep cycle or even car battery will last 24 hours and still be 12.2 volts or better after running a 5 watt transceiver on voice or cw all weekend. (set up Fri. Nite, runs continuously 1PM Sat. to 1 PM Sun. Scout is fine with that, as is the Yaesu FT 7, Kenwood TS 120, 130, 140, Yaesu FT 817 of course, and the K2 among the rigs our club has used. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
