B&W broad banded folded dipoles are little more than a leaky dummy load. Often as much as 20 dB down from a dipole. The secret matching box is nothing but a power resistor. I'd rather use a tuner and a buried wire, it's less visible and equally as effective. The B&W may have a place at a radio location where radio skills are not normal (government communications site) and where high transmitter power can be used to make up for the antenna's lack of radiation. 73, Jerry, K0CQ -- Entire content copyright Dr. Gerald N.
