No FCC, only radios that transmit above 30mhz
UL on power supply, not radio.
I would say that Ten-Tec has spent most of their years designing the
Orion. First the Omnis, the best in the analog and then the
pegaus/jupiter, best and only full DSP. Its not like they are
re-inventing the wheel (maybe black paint!). Its going to be a great
radio.

Some design engineers have told me that design steps
(simplified) ar as follows:
1. Design project
2. Go to market
3. Revise design
However, I doubt that would be the case with a project
as important to the company as the Orion. It is simply
an indication of the pressures involved to get a
project finished.
If FCC testing and/or UL testing is involved, the time
frame could be lengthened dramatically.
