Most steel wires will show more r-f loss than copper wires. If the loss is
tolerable, go for it! Might be a little hard to work with it if it is
stiff, etc.
I prefer to use the Home Depot or Lowe's #14 THHN insulated stranded copper
wire for all my antennas. It is cheap - $15 for 500 ft - and strong and
flexible.
