Good question, one that's going to get a lot of answers. Here's mine...
The black on white display would be far more legible than a color display. I
have used a couple of rigs with colored displays - result: tired eyes about
6-7 hours into a 'test.
Younger eyes, or less myopic eyes, might do better over the same or a longer
period of time. But my eyes are as old as the rest of me; 9 years older than
dirt; and they still work well enough to let me drive at night. I prefer to
keep them that way.
Besides; a black on white display may give TT a bit extra they can put into
super low noise RF/IF amplifiers. Lowering the noise floor and making it that
much easier to copy Zero Zed Zero Zed Zed's 100 Watts to a GAP Voyager on
160.
