Hi everyone:

I'm currently running two TT transceivers, an Omni VI/3 and a Corsair II.
They are run into a coax switch that allows me to switch them in and out of
the line to the linear, and on upstream to the antenna. (I use a stereo A/B
box to switch the linear control lines from one rig to the other.) I can
listen and tx on one or the other at any given time but what I would really
like to do is listen on both, tx on one and automatically mute/rf protect
the other. I think this could be done by modifying each transceiver to
install second rx output phono jacks on the rear panels which would be
connected to microcoax running to a tap off of the rx rf line just inside
the txrx switching. Then, run a line from the 2nd rx jack on each, to the
other's 2nd rx ant. input. But since I don't really know what I'm doing,
this idea has a lot of "Uh oh (a.k.a. "Aw s***") potential, as in, doing the
mod, turning everything back on and not hearing anything, or barely hearing
the kw 1/2 mi. away, or finding out I fried a microprocessor etc.

So, does anyone make an external switching box for this? I've looked at
Array Solutions but what they have seems to be way overkill for me. I'm
just looking for a box with 3 so239s, a fast qsk rf relay inside, relay
current hookup, and a tx en jack to accept a switching signal. If I knew
enough to be dangerous I'd try to make one--it only needs to handle exciter
rf levels. Being able to switch and reverse the operation favoring the
other rig would be a plus. Has anyone else put anything like this together?
Installed a 2nd rx jack? Found a product that does this? Worked out
another way to do so2r? Is it harder to do than I think it is? (that won't
be a surprise.) All comments welcome.

Tnx & 73,

Rob Atkinson
