Last I looked RF parts sold 4CX1600B, has that changed? And other venders of Russian tubes tend to have them. Look for Svetlana or 4CX1500B. Google turned up: http://www.hfpower.com/_disc2/00000075.htm http://www.rfparts.com/tubesvet.html http://www.dxham.com/tubes.html http://www.surplussales.com/Tubes-Sock-Acc/TubesListed.html http://www.vacuumtubes.net/page/price1.html http://members.surfsouth.com/~wharrell/fest/tomstube.htm http://www.pentalaboratories.com/audiophile.asp?dept_id=1331 Have you asked Tentec? They treat us very fine on other parts, its hardly conceivable that they should be stingy about selling replacement tubes for their own products. The tube has adequate ratings for normal 1.5 KW output that it should not be worn out by any use including continuous commercial service. So if the amplifier meets specs for efficiency now it shouldn't need a tube. 73, Jerry, K0CQ -- Entire content copyright Dr. Gerald N. Johnson. Reproduction by permission only. |
