The sad multiple strike experience in Fla. shows the need for gas gaps, single point of entry copper plate at a multiple radio site, and grounded repeater antennas of the commercial grade multiple bays of folded grounded dipoles. Even then, NASA experiences occasional damage at the Space Center launch pads ,with their built in lightning suppression systems to drain charge accumulation. Disconnect in the station is about the best added thing one can do. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
