Hello fellow Ten-Tec fans,
I might as well add my 2.3 cents worth. I would certainly like the
Orion to have a "real" front panel rather than be like the Pegasus. Having
the OPTION of computer control as in the Jupiter would be excellent. I use
the Jupiter in either mode depending on what I am doing, and how I feel, at
the time.
I seem to recall that Scott mentioned that the Orion was going to have a
display like the Jupiter but that it was going to be larger and a different
color. This would lead me to believe that the Orion is in fact going to
have a front panel. Not much use, or need, for a display if there are no
associated knobs, buttons, switches, dials, and all sorts of other fun stuff
in the near vicinity!
I am impatiently awaiting word from those fortunate enough to see the
Orion at Charlotte! I remember having the same feelings back when Ten-Tec
first announced the "Pegasus FP" (Jupiter). I have a sneaking suspicion
that the Orion will be well thought out and well worth the wait AND the
money.
