Not stumped.....stump, as in "I must be dumber than a stump, or
else I was sleeping in class that day". I have a remote pod on
my Pegasus and find I use it quite a bit. One thing I do [did] not
like about it was the lack of drag on the encoder. Just breathe
on it and it would turn. So...............not wanting a little thing
like
that get me down, I decided to put a felt washer under the knob
and adjust the fit for a little drag.
With tools and felt in hand, I remove the knob and guess what I
found? A felt washer already in place? No, something even
better. I found that the fine folks at Ten Tec built in a really
clever ADJUSTABLE drag mechanism. It uses a couple felt pads
dragging against a smooth mylar [or similar] washer attached to
the panel.
This is really slick! All one has to do is hold the satin chrome
skirt of the knob while turning the rubber covered portion one
direction or the other. Turning clockwise increases the drag and
of course turning counter clockwise reduces the drag! Mine was
at full counter clockwise position.
Am I the only person in the world that did not know about this
neat feature? Thought so.......................
